"It is the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy FAITHFULNESS"!
Lamentations 3v22-23
This is one of my favorite verse to recite in the morning. It reminds me that there is nothing good in me. It is only by the mercies and goodness of the Lord that I am still in the land of the living. It also tells me the sweetest words of love: That God's love for me is new EVERY MORNING! It doesn't matter how yesterday ended, today \this morning God is pouring his love afresh. It's like starting on a new page. My prayer then goes like this. Lord I know your love for me is beyond and above my understanding. I know that all of heaven is interested in the happiness of man(me). Help me to receive this your love for me. I pray that you may give me new love for the children. I pray that i will love them as though i have never loved them before. To love afresh, to be gentle and patient. Is your love for your children, husband/ wife new every morning? You see God's love is unconditional. He does not withhold it because of our rebellion(Not like we do when someone has done us wrong, and start playing strange). God is always looking out for us,constantly drawing the heart nearer to him- I thank Him for that.I hope you do too!

Little Plants
Children are like little plants, that need to be watered with love, patience and kindness. It takes time to tend a garden(hearts).Constant care is needed to weed(bad habits), and to make sure the weeds do not overtake the plants. And of course the most important is the sunshine(smile, approval). With all this we are guaranteed a plenty harvest!
Happy Spring and Happy Planting!!!

Building A Character
Character does not come by chance. It is not determined by one outburst of temper. It is a repetition of the act that causes it to become a habit and molds the character either for good or evil. Right characters can be formed ONLY by persevering, untiring effort, by improving every entrusted talent and capability to the glory of God

Once upon a time, I thought it was enough to read bible stories, sing and pray with my children.I thought they would be obedient and perfect, until I started to hear and see ugly things.I would in turn become quite upset and throw a word or two of reproof, hoping to solve the problem. But I was wrong. The wisest man that once lived wrote these words:"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it"Prv 22v6.Notice he did not use the word "tell".You see we express ourselves for the most part through speech. It was easier for me to just tell them through an outburst and expect them to listen. But the problem was not solved. Since then this is what I have learnt:

It was easier for me to just tell them through an outburst and expect them to listen. But the problem was not solved. Since then this is what I have learnt:
- Training requires time, a plan, consistency and patience. Every moment is an opportunity to train our children.
- Training too, requires us to model or show what we expect from them. I was asking my children to some extent things that I was not practising.
- I have had to learn that children learn more from example. They copy our expressions, tone of voice, approach to difficult situations and mannerisms. What a responsibility we have to help form a godly character!
- All the above tells me one thing. It has to start with us-parents and guardians. We have to first make changes in our lives and our children will follow or copy. I expect my children to be kind, loving, gentle and patient. The question is am I practising all that. It starts with us. We need Jesus in our hearts, we need to die to self every moment and allow God to reign.
- The last thing is PERSEVERANCE!The clouds of discouragement will float by but do not give in. Proverbs 16v3 says: Commit thy ways unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. You must believe that you do not work alone. You are working with the Master builder. You are just a helping hand. God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Mighty Angels are working with you. For God does not want any to perish. His desire is to see you and your children in heaven. Be in the habit of claiming the precious promises. For his word is strength and health to the bones. If God is for us who can be against us............Read Romans 8v28,31-39

Stones
Today l took a walk in the morning and i took note of the stones , so
many of them on the road, some were big and others small. l
rememmbered Jesus in the wilderness after fasting for forty days and
nights and he was an hungered. Satan came by to tempt him and said you
can turn these stones into bread. And Jesus said "man shall not live
by bread alone but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God".
What a statement!Having gone for forty days and nights Jesus was
starving but because he had been talking with the Father, being
strengthened spiritually, he was able to discern the enemy's
temptation. We live in a busy society or rather let me say we have
made our lives so busy that by the time we think of God,there is just
not enough time left for him and to study his word. And yet Jesus
took time for you and me, He left the glories of heaven even
separating from his Father just for you and me. We give time to the
things and people that matter to us, things that we like and people
who are important to us. What of God?Friends are you taking that time
to feed on the word of God? Jesus the Son of God did take that time
not only once but daily took that time to connect with his heavenly
Father. Remember His word is life and health to the bones. Next time
you look at the stones, remember the true bread of life, Jesus Christ!

Food For Thought
When children are born, they are like empty glasses.Slowly but surely we begin to fill them with good and bad habits. They are empty vessels waiting to be filled. Today you have a choice to make, what are you going to fill your vessel with? They can only be filled with what you allow them to recieve and give.

Country Living Chuckles!
We had just moved to the countryside, the grass smelled fresh and green, the trees were already budding. It was spring time! We were looking forward to gardening.Everything was good except for my son who was having a hard time because he was not used to seeing all the small, flying creatures. One afternoon he was out playing when he came in screaming ,mommy!mommy!something is following me"he said. What is it? I asked concerned. It's this thing, and taking a closer look .........it was a fly.ha-ha-ha funny!
The Journey
The story began with two people who realised they loved each other and wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. To express this love for one another they made a declaration infront of God, family and friends, pledging to love unconditionally! What a day it was for those of you who went through this path. And as time passed by many of you took the next step of expressing your love for each other and everybody got to hear of the wonderful new, "We are expecting!" As you travelled through this journey, they were "many unknows" but the beautiful outcome was it's a girl or it's a boy! Life could never have been more amazing and satisfying as you first recieved your title of being called a mother or father. The precious, tiny human being placed on your hands fully dependent on you, what a trust. You had to learn to nature, love and enjoy your new gift. All this tells of one important principle. Your relationship was founded on love and the most amazing thing is that children are an expression of your love!As the Lord works in my heart, He revealed this powerful principle. Children are an expression of your love for each other! By carrying your baby you were actually saying "yes, i love you my husband and i want to be a mother of your children".On the other hand the husband was also saying"yes i love you my wife, l want to be a father of your children". You spoke the same language of love, you promised to be there for each other and for this precious "gift!" You know, i looked very closely at the children, and as those words echoed in my mind tears just welled up in my eyes as i thought deeply, this is how much i love my husband and this is how much he loves me!Today i ask that you take a look at your child/children and think of the vow you made on that "special day" as you promised to love unconditionally!
"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man, so are childrenof the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them;they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate".Psalms 127v3-5

power of touch
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
